Accessorize Mineral Blusher

Hello everyone. So I was looking around Accessorize the other day, and came across this little beauty...

Its domed shape and marble effect reminded me a lot of MAC Mineralize Skin Finishes, and the pigmentation and finish is definetely comparable. Apparently they have been baked for 8 hours, creating a high pigmented yet blendable blusher. The colour I picked up was called Scandalous.

With Flash

Without Flash

The finish is slightly frosty, but not at all glittery. It has a slight sheen to it, with an almost dewy finish. The colour is quite a bright pink with very subtle gold undertones and is very beautiful. I believe there are several more of these mineral blushes, and I really want to try them all out! They retail for £5 each. Some (though not this one) can be bought online, and some of them have been reduced to £2.50 so get them whilst you can!
What is your favourite blusher?

A Beautiful Summer's Day...

This post isn't fashion or beauty related at all, but just wanted to share some pictures from the Sunday just gone which where I live (near London) apparently reached 35 degrees according to my boyfriend's car! Crazy hot for England! Anyway we went and spent the day in the park, just people watching, cloud watching and sunbathing. Unfortunately got a tad sunburnt, but it was inevitable really!

A cloud shaped like the United Kingdom!

I hope everyone in Britain enjoyed (and is enjoying - for now) the sunshine!

Post Exam Treats - a new bag, perfume and spa

Hello everyone! So last Thursday I finished my A2 exams for good, so as a treat my boyfriend took me to the day spa at Center Parcs in Longleat to completely relax. It is called Aqua Sana, and really is an amazing place to visit.

At Longleat there were 16 'experiences' including rooms such as The Japanese Salt Steam Bath which had a temperature of 45 degrees and 90-100% humidity, and the Finnish Sauna which has a temperature of 70 degrees and 60% humidity (that one was tough!). Afterwards, we were free to explore everything else Center Parcs has to offer, so we went swimming and went for lunch. It was £59 for four hours in the spa for both of us, which I think is a bit of a bargain! If you want more info click here.

Yesterday, we both went to Windsor to do a bit of shopping. Windsor is a great place to go for the day; there are lots of little interesting shops, as well as the infamous Windsor Castle of course. On one of the stalls at the indoor market they were selling loads of lovely hand made leather bags, and one caught my eye in particular.

I adore the colour and the leather is so soft. It kind of reminded me of the Mulberry Bayswater, which I think is another reason why I liked it. The price was £60 but we managed to haggle the price down to £48, which I was really pleased with.

There was also tonnes of room inside which is perfect for me, as I tend to be a bit of a hoarder!

I also bought a new perfume; Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Mandarine Basilic.

Top notes are clementine, orange blossom, ivy, green tea and bitter orange; middle notes are peony, chamomile, mandarin orange and basil; base notes are sandalwood and amber. It is such a beautiful fragrance and is perfect for the summer months.

ASOS: a pretty new summer dress

Hello everyone! Just thought I would show the latest addition to my wardrobe. Excuse my bad BAD quality photos, but my camera happens to be broken so my iPhone is as good as it is going to get at the moment :)

It is a one shoulder dress which I love as I have nothing else like it. It has a tie waist but I think I might wear a thin waist belt instead. I also love the print:

I looks so much nicer in real life! You can find it on ASOS here.

If anyone would like a £5 off when you spend over £20 code, just leave a comment and your email and I will send you one. I have so many from all those diet cokes I drank :)

Everyone looking forward to summer?

Tous H20 for Oxfam

Hello everyone, hope you're all well.

I've just heard about this perfume by Tous, and how it is supporting Oxfam by donating some of their profits to the charity to provide clean, safe water to people in developing countries. Apparently, buying just one bottle will make 15 litres of water accessible to someone, somewhere. I love the sound of this perfume, and I think that the cause is just fantastic!

This is how it is described on the website;
"Top notes of Eco-Cert organic lemon from Italy and organic lavender from Bulgaria precede an airy and delicate heart of white flowers, jasmine, rose and apple. An earthy, woody base of cedar, white amber, musk and Australian Sandalwood cultivated from fair-trade and sustainable development projects in Australia complete this uniquely special fragrance."

I really want to try this! It sounds perfect for summer. It retails for between £26-£46 depending on the size, and you can buy it from here.

What fragrances are you liking at the moment?

Graze Box - Yummy!

If you've never heard of Graze before, it is a company which delivers boxes weekly to your home or work place, containing different types of snacks like olives, crackers, flapjacks, focaccia, and hundreds of other yummy things!  I received my box this morning:

This week I recieved (starting from the top left and going clockwise) 'The Firecracker', 'Wasabi Peanut Crackers', 'Korean Chilli Rice Crackers' and 'Golden Honey Nut Crackers'. I would recommend all of these, but the wasabi crackers are quite an acquired tasted and you would only like them if you like horse radish! Everything was so delicious, I've nearly finished it all already!

On the Graze website you can rate the food, so that you are more likely to receive what you like! It is definetely something I recommend you to try out, and when you use the code KJF7QKL or click here, you will get your first box free and then your second box half price! You can always cancel after the free box if you decide you don't want to do it anymore.

Have you tried Graze yet?

ASOS Dress Wishlist

Hello everyone! I hope you're all well. Sorry for my absenteeism, I have been majorly bogged down with school work - revising for my A2 exams coming up in two weeks. Such as stressful time! I can't wait for all the exams to be over so  I can blog more...

Anyway, ASOS are doing so many lovely dresses at the moment, so I thought I would share some of my favourites with all of you:

Dress No. 1

I love the look and colour of this dress. Check out the catwalk - I love how the material is so floaty!

Dress No. 2

I just think this dress is cute. I love the bow and the polka dot pattern.

Dress No. 3

I adore florals and the colours of this dress are so unlike anything I own.

Dress No. 4

This is beautiful, and I love the colour. It would be perfect for going to summer wedding I think (not that I have any to go to!).

Dress No. 5

This is so pretty and I particularly love the sheer material at the top.

Btw, I have recently posted lots of items of clothing for sale on eBay. Check it out if you would like! It has a few vintage items, wedges and other dresses/tops/shorts.

What is your favourite shop for clothes at the moment?

The Ultimate Make Up Guide

Hello everyone, just wanted to share with you my favourite make up guide of ALL TIME! It is Rae Morris' 'Make Up: The Ultimate Guide'. I don't think any make up enthusiast should be without this!

I got bought this as a present last Christmas, and since then this book has become invaluable and is always my first port of call when I'm doing my make up for a night out or when I need a bit of guidance. Rae Morris is a multi award-winning make up artist, and this book is filled with so many useful tutorials, tips, beautiful pictures and guides.
Here are a selection of some of the pages and some of the eye tutorials:
  • Eye Colour Charts
  • Rock Chick Eyes
  • Retro Eyes
  • Sensual Eyes
  • Contouring Face Map
  • How to Use Bronzer
  • Step-By-Step Eye Prep
  • Applying False Eyelashes

This guide has helped me with so many different aspects of make up and has given me plenty of ideas of looks to try!  It is really easy to understand and to follow the tutorials, and Rae writes in a very no nonsense way. It is available from Amazon for £11, which I think is a great price for such a brilliant and informative book!

My Favourite High St / Drugstore Products

I think that there are many high street products which are comparable to and sometimes even better than higher end products. I have tried hundreds of high street products, and I would like to give you the benefit of my research! So here is my list of products which I think are worth checking out, and definetely worth the money.

Bourjois Delice de Poudre Bronzing Powder

I'm sure you will have heard of this bronzer. The colour is brilliant - not too orange or too brown. It is also matt, which for me is an absolute must: too much shimmer can look unnatural and over the top in my opinion. Plus, because there is no shimmer, it also means this bronzer can double up as a contouring powder. It also smells amazing! It retails for £6.99 in Boots and Superdrug.

Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer

I love this concealer, and I talk about it in my Favourite Make Up Items post. It's just the best I have tried quite simply! It costs £3.99.

Natural Collection Blush in Pink Cloud

This is a lovely blush, a very light pink, very much a dupe for MAC Well Dressed. It is very pigmented and lasts well on my cheeks. Natural Collection is only available in Boots, and this blush costs £1.99 (or you can buy three items for £5).

Collection 2000 Naturally Radiant Foundation

There is a story behind this. I went to holiday in Cornwall last summer and annoyingly I forgot to bring the foundation I was using at the time, MAC Studio Sculpt. So I had to buy an emergency replacement from the only shop for miles around, which was Tesco. I only bought this as it was the cheapest I could find from the very limited selection! But honestly this foundation is AMAZING! Especially for the price, which I think was around £4. It has a medium coverage in my opinion, and gives quite a satin type of finish. It looks very natural and on my skin it lasted all day. I find it very moisturising. I love this. And it also has SPF 15!

Collection 2000 Big Fake Mascara

Again, another amazing Collection 2000 product! This mascara is brilliant, mainly due to the huge brush! It separates lashes well, is very black and doesn't flake off. It is around £4.99.

17 Mirror Shine Lipstick in Beehive.

This lipstick is beautiful. It is a nude/pink colour, and has a very glossy finish. It feels and looks almost like  lipgloss but without the stickiness. You can wear it on its own (like above) or layered over other lipsticks to give a shiny finish. I love it over MAC Creme d'Nude. Was around £4.50 from Boots.

Barry M Liquid Liner in Black

This has a felt tip liner which makes it super easy to apply. It is very black and lasts all day, does not fade or rub off. It costs around £4.

Carmex

A classic. I don't think I need to explain this! Everyone should have one!

There we go, those are my favourite High St products. I hope I have helped you in showing you what I like, and what I consider to work well. Which High St products are your favourites?
